Who we are

Meet the Classics (meettheclassics.com) publishes illustrated retellings of classic novels for children ages 6–9. This policy explains what information we collect on this website and how we use it. Questions: support@meettheclassics.com.

Our email list is for adults

Our books are for children, but this website does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Only parents, teachers, and other adults 18 or older may join our email list, and everyone who signs up confirms they are an adult. If we learn that a child has given us personal information, we will delete it. If you believe this has happened, please contact us.

What we collect

When you join our email list we store your email address, which page you signed up on, the date and time, and your confirmation that you are an adult.

To stop spam, we briefly keep a scrambled (one-way hashed) version of your internet address to limit repeated signups. We cannot turn it back into your address, and it is deleted automatically, usually within a day.

We do not use advertising or tracking cookies, and we do not run analytics on this site. After you sign up, we set one cookie that lets your browser download members-only printables; it contains no personal information.

Browsing the site does not require an account. Like any website, our hosting provider may record basic technical information (such as your internet address and browser type) in server logs to keep the site running and secure.

How we use it

We use your email address to send the free activity pack, news about new books, and new printable activities. We do not sell or rent your personal information, we do not share it for advertising, and we do not use it for anything else.

Service providers

This website runs on Google Firebase and Google Cloud, which store our data on our behalf. If we use an email service to send newsletters, it will process your email address only to deliver our emails to you.

Your choices and rights

You can ask us at any time to remove you from our list, to tell you what information we have about you, or to delete it, by emailing support@meettheclassics.com. Every newsletter we send will include a link to unsubscribe. We will not treat you differently for making a request. These choices apply wherever you live, including California.

How long we keep it

We keep your email address until you ask us to remove it or we stop sending newsletters.

Security

Our data is stored with Google Cloud and protected by access controls; only the site owner can see the email list. No method of storing information online is perfectly secure, but we take care to protect what you share with us.

Changes

If we change this policy, we will update it here and change the date at the top of this page.
